My Mid-Year Resolutions!

I did not keep any of my new years' resolutions, but I've decided to commit to really try to accomplish a few goals in the near future:

1. Lose this post-baby weight. It is ridiculous that I weigh almost as much as I did DURING my pregnancy, after I lost it all after she was born! Therefore, we are both starting Weight Watchers again, which has been very successful for us in the past. It is SO hard to get started for me, especially since my weight takes a while to start coming off, and Stephen's just seems to pour off within an hour of starting to diet! I'm hoping we can really do this, we are determined to be hot little parents for Galveston this year!

2. Post on my blog more often. I get overwhelmed because when I don't post for a few days, or weeks, I have so much to catch up on, so I just avoid it all together. I'm going to focus on posting small posts more frequently, instead of long sagas that no one wants to read!

3. Find some sort of backup permanent storage for all of my pictures and videos of Kemble. Right now they are all saved on my laptop and that's it! I post some to Facebook, of course the blog, and various photo sharing sites, but I need a way to store them that is more secure. It's funny to think that the "old fashioned" way of printing pictures is really the most permanent and secure option, because unless your house catches fire or floods, they are safe. I have a hard time trusting a hard drive of any kind, but I would feel better if they were at least saved in 2 different places. Unfortunately, these options are fairly expensive, but ironically, much less expensive than having all 10,000 pictures I have saved on my computer printed! At 19 cents a print, that would be quite pricey, which makes a $100-$200 external hard drive pale in comparison!

If any of you have any advice in this department, please let me know!!

4. Keep our house more clean and begin to prepare it to sell. Not that we're putting it up for sale in the immediate future, but it will be less overwhelming and more enjoyable to start slowly.

5. Try to spend less money. I have almost completely given up my shopping habit for personal things for me, and I really do limit myself drastically for things for Kemble (but if it's cute, and less than $5, I buy it every time!). I absolutely do not want to have to work, so we're going to have to find some creative ways to save money.

6. Spend more time outside with Kemble. She just loves to be outside and I know it's good for both of us (although my allergies might disagree). We walk when the weather's nice, but that's about the extent of the time she spends outside. To be honest, it's just kind of boring when it's just the two of us all the time, but I am thinking about getting her a swing to hang outside somewhere. Aaannd....back to that money goal!

That's all for today! Kemble's belated seven-month update is up next!
