Kemble at 8 Months

OK, I forgot to write this on Monday, but I've been writing it in my head this week! First, here are her 8 month pictures...

all she wanted to do during this photo shoot was chew on Ellie's ears...

always looking for some fun!

-You are sitting up so well all by yourself now. I still leave a pillow behind you, just in case, but you rarely need it!
-You graduated from your baby bath tub to your big girl duck tub! I think you love having more room to splash and play with your bath toys!

-You finally mastered rolling from back to tummy!! You now do it anytime you want to, and I've even seen you turning over to sleep on your tummy during naptime a few times.
-You are learning that you can be as stubborn as you want to be... for example, you figured out that if you really don't want to eat, you can just hold your tongue at the front of your mouth to block the spoon/bottle. You still eat pretty good, but it's at your own pace! You are starting to take less and less formula, but I think that's OK, so I'm going to start upping your food a little and giving you less formula. I'm also trying to give you juice once or twice a day in a sippy cup or a bottle, and you really enjoy it, although sometimes you just enjoy chewing on the handle or the spout of the sippy cup instead.

-You just LOVE to be outside! We finally got your swing set that Jill found for you put up, and you really seem to like it. You love to just watch the leaves blow in the wind and take everything in.

-We're learning we really have to keep an eye on you these days. You can scoot or drag yourself wherever you think the action is. Lately you like to come lay by the coffee table and put your feet up on the shelf under it. Yesterday I found you with a photo album that you had pulled off of it! You help yourself to anything you can reach, and of course, it goes straight to your mouth.
-Not only are you learning you can get into everything, but you get mad if we take it away from you. Sorry sweet girl, but I just can't let you chew on my phone or drink my Diet Dr Pepper! :)
-You still don't have any teeth, but you still act like you are getting them any day now! I have been saying that for about 4 or 5 months now I think!!

Your new "trick" is to hold something in your mouth - look, no hands!

-You are so strong! You can fight your way out of anything like eating, washing your face, cleaning your nose, etc! You actually seem to enjoy me cleaning your ears though!
-You love to get your chair rocking back and forth when you're in it, it's so cute to watch you pump it back and forth! You also love to get your bouncy seat going fast, in fact, I think it's about to get put away in the attic with everything else you're quickly outgrowing, because I'm scared you're going to flip it over! Same with the Bumbo, I think you could climb out of it if you really tried hard enough! I love it, so I'm hoping you can refrain from that a little bit longer!
-You wear size 3 diapers and are in 6ish to 12ish month clothes. All of your t-shirts are too short, so the ones you're wearing now are 12-18 months! Same with pajamas pretty much.
-When strangers talk to you (and they do quite often) you look at them with a blank look, then look at me as if to ask permission, then back to them and smile.
-You love to go shopping with me. You can sit in the shopping cart pretty well and I think you feel like a big girl and you just watch me shop and smile and attract aformentioned strangers!
-We're trying desperately to get you to say Mama and Dada, but you just smile at us!

Wearing Daddy's hat

-It seems like you say "hi". Often when we say it to you, you reply back with a pretty distinct "hi", and it's different from your normal talking. So cute!
-Your hair is finally coming back in! It was SO thick when you were born, and it didn't start falling out until about 5-6 months (along with a bald spot in the back), but now it's coming back in (super blonde) and is about an inch and a half long, but the pieces that didn't fall out are about 6 inches long!!!!
in the NICU with lots of hair!
you kinda had old man hair for a while! :)

look at that pretty blonde hair!

...And just in case we forgot how teeny you once were:
