Here are her pictures with Ellie....
-You are growing so fast! Many of your 6 months clothes and pajamas are much too small, so you're wearing mostly 6-9 or 6-12 month clothes, 12 month pajamas, and you now have 3 pairs of sandals that FIT!!
Kemble next to a Preemie outfit she wore...
-You are eating so much more variety now! Some of your favorites are oatmeal (mixed with just about any fruit), Chicken & Apples, Peas, Mixed Veggies, Garden Veggies, Peaches, and mixtures like Peas & Brown Rice or Green Beans & Brown Rice. I'm having fun trying new things with you. You are eating chicken & turkey now, and you like them both.
-You are not such a fan of green beans or bananas... but you'll eat them most of the time anyway. I can't stand the way the storebought bananas look and smell, so I have only given them to you once and never again... I think they made us BOTH nauseous!!
-You don't like your food warmed up, you like it room temperature, but if it's cold, that's fine too!
-You have cereal and fruit every morning, followed by a 6-oz bottle, at lunch you usually have a meat and a veggie with a 6-oz bottle, at dinner a fruit and veggie and 6-oz bottle, and at bedtime an 8-oz bottle. Such a big girl eating schedule!
-You're starting to use a sippy cup and will drink water mixed with apple juice from it pretty well. I think you secretly just like to chew on the spout though.
-You don't spit up nearly as much as you used to - not sure if it is thanks to switching your type of Prevacid because you actually ingest more of it, or if it's just that you are outgrowing it or that the solids help, but we are all enjoying it!
-You like to spend time on your tummy a lot more than you did before, but you will quickly roll over if you're not into it.
-You've mastered toe sucking!
-Still no teeth, but we're expecting them any day!
-You are thinking about crawling, sometimes you bear crawl just a little, and sometimes you scoot, but most often your travel direction is backwards :)
-You are starting the bumps and bruises phase of babyhood: last week you crashed your head into the corner of your dresser while sitting and playing with Mommy (I was so sad). You only cried for a few minutes, didn't get any bruises or anything bad, and were such a good sport about it.
-You still love your bath, except when I wash your face. You are going to LOVE swimming this summer! You're going to be a kicker like your Momma. We're already planning to train you for the Olympics!
-You used to give me deer-in-headlights look when I pulled out the camera....but now you seem to recognize it and you will usually smile for me on cue! We're still working on the videos though...
-You do a lot of talking and singing.... especially if there is music on to sing along to. You love to talk to your toys (or the lights and ceiling fans). You also love to just talk and talk and talk when you wake up, and I think if I let you, you'd lay in your crib for hours just talking to yourself and playing with your animals.
-You're sleeping MUCH better at night. You still occasionally wake up in the middle of the night, but usually you sleep right on through again. Thank you!
-You've started this little shudder when you get excited, it's just a little shivery movement but you only do it when you're smiling and excited about something. You also have learned to gasp in excitement, and it kind of drives us crazy!
-You roll your r's and blow rasberries pretty frequently. Sometimes you'll forget for a few days then when you remember and start doing it again you get excited all over again!
-Your favorite toys are ones that spin - you will hold it steady then spin it as fast as you possibly can. So cute! You also love stuffed animals and books - you're learning to turn the pages.
-You're a major wiggle worm. You squirm out of our arms when we are holding or feeding you, you bounce around all the time, and you are just becoming so active. Daddy calls you Slinky for the way you slink out of our arms in the wink of an eye!
-You think you are too big to sit back in your chair, high chair, car seat, etc.... You like to sit up like a big girl!
-We recently took you back to Ft Worth to the Cook Children's NICU Reunion. It made us realize how far you've come in such a short time! It seems like just yesterday that we were there, fighting for you.... but then again, it seems like that was a lifetime ago, because you're such a different, stronger little girl now! We got to see our favorite nurse Dabney and that was about it, but we still had a good time and we may take you back in the future to play the big kid games they had.
-You are still just the happiest, sweetest girl in the world. We love you so much!
