Monday, at Musikgarten class, Kemble was clingy to me (which has been more common than usual lately...perhaps she is more attuned to the fact that pretty soon, she won't be my only baby anymore, than we give her credit for) and she didn't want to participate in the songs and dancing, which normally she's ALL about because she has turned into a regular little songstress/actress/dancer! Anyway, when we left I told her I was disappointed in the way she acted and that she missed a lot of fun by refusing to participate. I said "it doesn't make me happy when you act that way". Her reply? "But Johnny Football makes you happy! I like Johnny Football too!"
I laughed so hard. It was so random - although during football season Johnny Football was a household name, since the Cotton Bowl a week ago, we haven't mentioned him.
(He does, however, make me VERY happy!!!!)
Shameless Aggie plug here... CBS Sports today announced their pick for the #1 team going into next season. Bet you can't guess which maroon team it might have been! WHOOP! Soooo very proud to be an Aggie all the time, win or lose, but this season was SO fun!"

Yesterday I walked into our bedroom and found Kemble pulling a few coins out of Stephen's coin jar in our armoire. She immediately froze, with a guilty look on her face when she saw me. I said "What are you doing?" and she said, very nonchalantly, "just getting some money to put in my piggy bank". Hahaha, you've got to give the girl some credit, sneaking a few coins here and there to fill her own piggy bank up is pretty ingenious! I wonder how long she's been doing it, because i caught her again this morning!
Stephen recently got his first iPhone. I've had one for over a year now, but we never used FaceTime until Stephen got his. He FaceTimed Kemble one day while he was at work, and now every time anyone calls, or she wants to call them, she says "I want to FaceTime _____". It's so funny coming from a 3-year old!
Last week, Kemble put one sock over both feet, then she said, "Look Momma! Take a picture of me like this and put it on Facebook."

This isn't "funny" but yesterday I was writing up a (verrry looooong--so many projects going right now!) Hobby Lobby shopping list. I left it sitting on the bar, and Kemble was sitting in my lap and I was on the phone. After I hung up, she showed me the paper and said "Ta-da!!" and she had written "mom" on top of my list. I was so proud! She's been writing it for a few weeks now, and so far it's the only word she can write all on her own. Every mom wants their baby's first word to be "mama", in our case, it was "book", pronounced "boopf", but I am extremely proud that the first word she can write is "mom". Now if we can just get the other 24 letters down!!! :)

This was the day she learned to write "mom" after this first "m" (by the way, the K was written by me... she hasn't mastered her very favorite letter yet).
She has also has been perfecting drawing faces, this one was Tres, can you tell by the beard? (Which, ironically, he had shaved off that morning and she didn't know it!)

Playing around at the antique mall

Yesterday was an icy morning, and although Stephen went to work like normal (boo!), I decided to let Kemble play hooky from school. There was just no good reason to get out of our warm pajamas for a few hours of school.... and I'm NOT a fan of driving on ice. So, we stayed home and snuggled and played. I spotted her new Fiesta tea set she got in her basket, and had an idea. She loves to have pretend ones, but we've never had a real one for some reason. So I said, "Hey Kemble, do you want to have a real tea party, with real tea and muffins?" She replied "OOOOOH can we invite all our friends?!" We didn't invite anyone to join us, but we did have a good time baking pumpkin muffins, making some tea (which she was NOT a fan of) and learning to pour tea from her tea pot. Love my baby girl!
