a feisty little toddler already?

I think my little girl is growing up before my eyes! It looks like the blog posts are going to get more frequent as Kemble does more and more things I have to put into history before I forget the details.

So, this morning I brought my laptop into the living room with us while we were playing. I try not to do that very often, but occasionally I do. Anyway, she loooves my laptop and loves to try to pick at the keyboard. I always tell her no, but she's already managed to pick 2 keys off that no longer work, so I really don't want her doing any more damage, so I try not to let her see it so she doesn't have to get told no. Well, she was playing happily while I was checking emails, and then she spotted what I was doing and came rushing over. She went for the keyboard a little apprehensively and I told her "no no" and she looked at me and said "nuh nuh" in a loud growly voice! We went through that several more times, so I put it up.

At lunch today, she was having cheese, carrots and cantaloupe (which she detested. how can you not like a deliciously sweet fresh cantaloupe?!) and she was not into much but the cheese. She kept throwing her bib down which is her new way of showing me she's not happy about something or other. She threw her sippy cup twice. Then I got out some Cheerios because when all else fails, she will always eat Cheerios. After I gave her some, I dropped the box and a few spilled onto the floor. She was very concerned about those lost Cheerios on the ground and kept looking at them and talking about them. I kept telling her it was ok, that I'd clean them up after lunch. She started to meticulously take one dice of food at a time and throw it down. She's accidentally dropped food of course, and she will sometimes wipe away her food when she's full, and she throws her bib and sippy cup, but she's never deliberately thrown her food down before... I let her throw a few pieces but she would find a stray Cheerio or cheese cube and eat it, but once she started throwing them all I decided lunchtime was over!

These pictures obviously aren't from today, but you can see her ripping off her bib! It all makes me want to laugh, but I know I can't. She's just starting to get such a little personality and attitude. I can't wait 'til she can truly communicate with us by signing or talking. I guess my baby is turning into a toddler..... only 3 weeks now until her first birthday!! Wow, really, 3 weeks?! I better get on those invitations!!!!
