The new developement: kisses! I've waited since the day she was born for her to return the millions of kisses I give her and she finally does! They are wet and slobbery and the sweetest, most heartfelt little kisses ever! Today they've even come complete with a smooching sound! I have to admit, this is my very favorite skill of hers! I can't wait 'til they come with "I love you, Mama's!"
The cruising along the furniture has doubled lately, and she can go from one thing to another very easily. Yesterday, she learned how to sit down from standing, and it's so cute because she just slowly, slowly inches her bottom downwards crouching down until she's sitting, then she just takes off crawling to somewhere else. Each day she can stand a little longer by herself, but she's catching onto me letting go and starting to try and not let me let go.
It really is amazing how different she can be in just a day or two! There are certain things I wish she wouldn't learn how to do, like chewing on her crib rail. I ordered a cover for it tonight, I hope it gets here before she destroys it (or her teeth!).
Our little girl is growing up before our eyes!
In non-Kemble news, not that there's much of that.... we finally watched The Blind Side tonight! Best movie I've seen in a long time!!! I felt such pride knowing that the lady whose true story is portrayed by Sandra Bullock is a Kappa Delta. I wish each and every one of us could do something so amazing for someone else, and it certainly makes me want to try.
Yesterday we enjoyed a fun visit from Grandmomma and Daddy Butch. Kemble showed off all her new tricks and we enjoyed a yummy steak dinner at Texas Land & Cattle where we cooled off because our power was out following a nasty little storm that hit us suddenly. All of a sudden we heard rain and thunder, looked outside and the rain and winds were swirling around. I've never seen anything like it. The trees were bowed over, bent at about 90 degrees. They said winds reached up to 60 mph! It was like a little mini hurricane in our back yard! It was a storm that just hit right over Corinth, they called it a microburst, and I'd never heard of such a thing before, but it was really unique. Anyway, after it was over we kept hearing sirens and saw the fire trucks were all at our back neighbor's house, so we walked around and their chimney had blown off. Lots of people in our neighborhood had trees and fences down, but luckily we didn't have any damage. We made the news, for sure! We saw our neighbor's house on TV a few times, and apparently everyone else saw it too! Crazy that it happened just a few feet away from us, it could've been our house with a hole in the roof so easily.
We're enjoying a relaxing weekend at home, and avoiding doing the many things that need doing! :) Off to bed I go!!
