Here are just a few of the bluebonnet pictures from our impromptu session tonight. We knew the weather was going to be getting bad this weekend, not to mention we're already so busy all weekend, and the bluebonnets won't stick around much longer, so we headed out tonight to get some done, and I think they turned out pretty well. At first I thought it was going to be a disaster.... Kemble had the hiccups (which means she's refluxing) so she was fussy in the car (they went away when we got there), then the side street was closed for construction so I wasn't even sure we were going to be able to get to the bluebonnet patch (but we did), THEN I realized that I didn't have my memory card for my big camera (and the high density one for my little camera doesn't work in it) so we had to go to Albertson's nearby to get one, they didn't have any, so we had to go down the street to CVS (we were on the north side of Denton, way too far to go back home for it!), then when we were pulling back up to the bluebonnets, it started sprinkling a tiny bit, then my camera faked dead batteries for a while until it figured out they weren't really dead.... but after all that, Kemble was a trooper and as you can see, was very cooperative and happy for all of the pictures. The overcast evening sky provided great lighting, and the beautiful bluebonnets did their job! And, well....Kemble's a natural! I think the pictures show it, but she really had so much fun playing in the flowers...and trying to eat them occasionally. She loves to be outside and do new things, and I'm so thankful for that! I have to admit that I was dreading trying to get her out in mediocre weather and get good pictures of not only her, but the 3 of us together, without an extra hand to help... but in the end, we really enjoyed our little family venture and I think it all turned out perfectly!
OK, I swore to myself I'd only choose 5 of my favorites.... but of course, I couldn't pick. So here's a bunch! I still have some editing to do... like cropping the orange construction fence out of the back, power lines, etc... but you get the idea!
I know I am seriously lacking in the blog updating department, I've been sick, we've been busy, and I've just been putting it off. I'll catch up and get back on track soon, promise!
The pictures are adorable!!! Too precious!
ReplyDeleteThose are great pictures. She is too cute!!!! I wish ours had turned out that good. My boys were crying the whole time bc there were bees on the flowers. Oh well...maybe next year.
