We took Kemble to the State Fair of Texas for the first time on Sunday. Stephen and I enjoy the fair, and we were excited to take her! We met Kelsie and her boys and Melissa and Chris there for some fun!
Kemble with Big Tex
Unfortunately, on the way we were stuck in some traffic right before we got there, and Kemble was pretty fussy - she has NEVER liked traffic. Well... then she threw up. Poor thing. I know just how she feels, because I get car sick myself. She's only ever thrown up once before and that too was from car sickness after circling a parking lot looking for a spot. She cried and cried and I think she was confused about what happened along with being miserable. I wanted to cry with her! We got there within a minute or two, and we stripped her down and by some miracle, on the way out of the house I'd grabbed a comfy change of clothes - which I rarely do - so we cleaned her up and changed her and then she was fine. She didn't look as cute as I intended her to in her Kelly's Kids shirt with her name on it and precious blue jeans and flowered high tops.... but we didn't have to go home because we were covered in vomit, so it worked!
Anyway, she loved seeing all the people - she's a little people watcher, nosy rosy, remember? She loved watching Garret and Kade run around and wanted to join them I think. Kade was too sweet and fed her Cheerios and held her hand or onto her stroller. It was super crowded, but the weather was absolutely perfect!
She LOVED the corny dog bites I gave her, and the ice cream I shared with her. Of course, Daddy and I loved the corny dogs too! They are our favorite! We didn't try any fried randomness, just stuck to the classics :)
We had a long fun day and although we didn't make it to the petting zoo or the aquarium, which were some of the main things we'd wanted to do, there's always next year! And maybe next year she won't lose our very favorite pink hairbow :(
In other news.... I told Stephen to get Kemble dressed the other day before we went to the store the other day and I was a little concerned about how that would turn out, but we were in a hurry to go and get back before naptime, but I was pleasantly surprised when he brought her out in this:
That Daddy is a good Daddy! And we are loving blue jean weather - she is the cutest blue jean wearing girl I've ever seen! - and Halloween shirts and decorations around here!! I counted 8 Halloween shirts in her closet the other day!! Here she is in her pink monster one
