7 inches!
...Thanksgiving 2008

Thanksgiving in Hamilton...
We didn't get a picture after the snow started :(
...Valentine's Day 2010
It always seems to snow right around a holiday!! Contrary to the news reports, we only got about 7 inches this time. I can't believe I just said "only 7 inches"! Actually, that's the 2nd time we got 7 inches here in Denton, but Waxahachie got over a foot of snow last week, so for once they beat us! I really wished we'd been there to enjoy all the fun snow festivities. I remember growing up on Patrick Road Tres and Louie and I would go sledding around the farm, or Bryan would pull us behind his truck on a trash can lid or even skiing. Of course these past two snows I've wished we could take Kemble out to build snowmen, go sledding, do snow angels, and make snow ice cream... but those things will have to wait for another year or two! I got her out in it once to take a picture, and she was a little amused and a little confused by the snow! She stared at it forever, and then after I got my pictures I brought her back in, and she was still toasty warm underneath her layers, but her little cheeks got rosy in no time! We took her back out when Stephen got home, thinking maybe she could spend a little longer out there, but that time she wasn't having any of it. We got a couple of decent pictures, but that's it. We did make snow ice cream, but she didn't taste it!
Stephen and I went out later while she was napping, and I pegged him with a huge snowball right in the face! Then he tackled me in the snow and we were done :)
Susan celebrated her 50th Birthday last week, and we celebrated on her actual birthday, Monday, with an absolutely delicious "Daughter" lunch fixed by Mamie.

Her big birthday celebration was to go to Joe T's for dinner and then to see Tuna Does Vegas at Casa Manana Friday night, so we took Kemble out for her first night on the town. It was mostly a success. She didn't enjoy Joe T's... I think partly because we woke her up from her nap to leave, then fed her a bottle in the car on the way - which she thought was totally strange. I think it was just loud and unfamiliar at Joe T's, because she cried through most of dinner. She really enjoyed listening to the mariachi band though!

I was hesitant to take her to the play at all, but Susan really wanted us to go, and since the whole family was going, we had no babysitters! After Susan consulted with the staff at Casa Manana when buying our tickets, they said it was fine to bring her, so we decided to give it a whirl. After dinner wasn't so successful, I was a little worried, but she did OK. I took her out once when she got a little fussy (we watched the show from the aisle exit - she just smiled and smiled at it), then when my arm was too tired to hold her, my mom held her for the 2nd half, and she also had to take her out once, but then she fell fast asleep. The show was funny, what I caught of it anyway, and I think Susan had a great birthday!
the adorable rockstar hat my mom got for her!

Happy Birthday, Susan! We love you!
On the way home I realized I had a sore throat, and figured it was just from being so tired. Stephen and I were up at 5 am that morning watching the weather reports to see if he had to go to work (he did), and we didn't get home from Fort Worth until after 11, so it was a long day for me. Unfortunately, I woke up the next morning in much more pain, was sick all day yesterday, then got worse overnight last night and today. I went this morning to the Minute Clinic inside CVS. It was definitely a first for me, but I knew I had a sinus infection and just needed some antibiotics, so it was a quick, easy and cheap option for a Sunday morning! I'm not feeling better yet, but hopefully I will be soon. I haven't been a very fun Valentine, but we already knew we weren't really going to be able to celebrate anyway. We ordered a pizza and Stephen picked up Blizzards. So romantic! :)
This week we're going to Waxahachie for the week because Stephen is leaving for Canada tomorrow. It's been crazy trying to get him packed for his trip, and Kemble and I packed for anything that we might find the urge to do, and any weather that may occur in Waxahachie!! I feel like we've packed up everything we own!! I hope it will all fit in the car!! I posted this once, but since then I've thought of a few other things I want to do, so I'm going to repost it!
Here are the things I want to do while we're in town:
1. redecorate/reorganize/clean our room at my parents' house (which will take much more time than it sounds like it should!)
2. eat at Golden China... I'm already having trouble deciding what to order!!!
3. get a Frenchburger from the Pub (I haven't had one since Best Burger...)
4. do a little house shopping with Melissa
5. spend plenty of time just relaxing with our family
6. watch the Olympics when possible

7. get Dove's Nest chicken salad at least once!
8. go with Momma to get the pedicures Tres gave us for Christmas (if we can find someone else to keep Kemble for an hour or so!)
I'm going to miss Stephen so much, and I don't think he realizes how much he is going to miss Kemble. We plan to Skype though, so hopefully that will help.
Now, I've got to get to packing!!!
